"For i was hungry and you gave me something to eat, i was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, i was a stranger and you invited me in. i needed clothes and you clothed me, i was sick and you looked after me, i was in prison and you came to visit me.Then the righteous will answer him 'Lord when did we see you hungry and feed you or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to vist you? The king will reply i tell you the truth whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine you did for me."
Matthew 25:35
I am sure all of you know that i have been going to Honduras once or twice a year for the past 4 or 5 years. In that time I bonded and grew closer to the people there; especially a small family of 4. Daisy and her 3 sons wove their way into the deepest places of my heart from the first moment I met them. They have a bleek existance as a typical Honduran family. The husband/father ran out on them years ago, Daisy is uneducated and lacking in a way to raise money for her family, and the boys struggle with the normal teenage temptations in Honduras: drugs, alcohol, and gangs. However, they have found a way to rise above. The boys are bright and inspired young men. They have defied all odds as they fought against they society in which they were born.
About a month ago the 3 boys moved in with Jen. She hopes to give them a chance to attend bilingual schools and learn trades that will guide them to a better future. Feeding three extra mouths hasn't been easy and paying for their schooling certainly hasn't been cheap but our God is good. However, last night they had to rush Carlos to the hostpital because he was in a lot of pain. They came to found out his appendix had ruptured and that he would need emergency surgery. He made it through surgery fine and will spend a few days recovering in the hospital. So now the thing to think about is how God is going to find money for this bill and praying that Carlos heals great. I believe that God has in his plan for us to call out for help for a friend so this is what i am doing. I am coming to you asking on behalf of Jen, Carlos, and myself that if you feel called to help out with this that you will. Matthew 25:35 talks about us being there for each other and reaching out to help in their time of need. I beg you to consider helping us find a way to cover the cost of this procedure. The doctors are estimating the surgery, meds, and hospital stay to be roughly $4,500. If you could send this as soon as possible that would be great. Please sends check (payable to Belpre Church of Christ) to 685 Timberline Drive Vincent Ohio 45784. Thank you so much.
God Bless,
Delaney
